VOLUNTEERING
Abril straitens its ties with the community by recognizing the innovative and successful initiatives, supporting projects of public interest and encouraging and investing in corporate volunteering.
After a successful and motivating experience with the city of Batalha (AL), the Mãos à Obra [Hands to Work] program was created in 1999, which supports, encourages and disseminates the volunteering work conducted by Abril's collaborators.
A site in the company’s intranet serves as a channel for interaction among people who already perform volunteer work and employees who are interested in the idea. Hands to Work currently has over 60 volunteer institutions from all centers of the company.
Abril disseminates in its internal communication vehicles events and campaigns of the institutions, their material and volunteer work needs. Currently, the great majority of donations provided by the company are destined to these institutions.
